Dhanush confirms working with ‘Rocky’ director Arun Matheswaran in a film

National Award winner Dhanush on Friday announced that he is collaborating with ‘Rocky’ director Arun Matheswaran for a film.

There was speculation in the media about the actor’s collaboration with the director, which he put to rest through a post on Twitter.

“Yes. Speculations are true. I am the lucky actor to bag @ArunMatheswaran’s next directorial. More details soon. Om Namashivaya,” Dhanush wrote on the microblogging site.

Responding to his tweet, the filmmaker said that he is honored to be directing Dhanush in what will be his third film.

“Thank you very much @dhanushkraja for the trust I am humbled and truly honored for your kind words.. I am lucky to be here. Looking forward to this big journey,” he said. Matheswaran’s debut Tamil language film “Rocky”, which released in theaters on Thursday, received a positive response.

According to media reports, the film will be a period gangster drama based on the 1950s.

Dhanush is currently starring in the Hindi film “Atrangi Re”, which premiered today on Disney+ Hotstar. The musical romantic-drama directed by Aanand L Rai also stars Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.

He on Thursday announced the Telugu-Tamil bilingual film ‘Sir’, directed by Venky Ataluri.

The actor has also completed work on his Hollywood project titled “The Gray Man” with filmmaker duo Anthony and Joe Russo. Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans are also a part of the film.

Dhanush also has the film “Nane Varuven” in the pipeline with his director-brother Selvaraghavan.
