In Hindi ‘Moti’ means ‘Pearl’ and ‘Chur’ means ‘to break’. These little pearls are made from gram flour, sugar syrup and flavourings. They are deep fried in oil and soaked in hot sugar syrup flavored with saffron, rose water, and cardamom powder. They are then rolled into circular shaped laddoos. On the other hand, peda is a sweet dish made with full-fat milk and sugar. It is flavored with cardamom and saffron and originates from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
