Director of MNIT takes over additional charge of IIIT-A. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: Director of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Professor RS Verma on Saturday took over the additional charge of Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A).
In pursuance of the order dated 14th February, 2022 by the Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Education, Director, IIIT-A Prof P Nagabhushan In a brief ceremony at Jhalwa campus of IIIT-A, Professor RS Verma was handed over the charge of Director, IIIT-A. IIIT-A officials said that he will serve as the director of IIIT-Allahabad until someone assumes a regular post.
After assuming charge at IIIT-A Jhalwa campus on Saturday afternoon, Prof. Verma Addressed a meeting of all Deans, Associate Deans and Professors and took stock of the matters.
Meanwhile, outgoing IIIT-A Director Professor P Nagabhushan said in a message that his five-year visit to IIIT-Allahabad, Prayagraj since May 2017 has been a great learning experience.
“During this period the three Chairmen of the IIIT-A Board of Governors (BOG) provided me strength and each Chair actively acted as a motivating source of encouragement. BOG, managing committee, Finance Committee and Building Construction Committee became the resourceful schools of education. Faculty, officers, staff, researchers, expert members of various committees, gymkhana, students and their parents, alumni, central ministry and well wishers provided a wealth of diverse experiences,” he said.
Professor Nagabhushan took over as the third regular director of IIIT-A on May 19, 2017 for a period of five years. His term was to end on May 19, 2022. However, in January 2022 he submitted his resignation from the post to the Union Ministry of Education, stating that he could be relieved from the post by February 18, 2022. Professor Nagabhushan’s resignation came after he was elected as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Science Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (Deemed University) located near Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.
However, his resignation letter was rejected by the President. Ramnath Kovind And he was asked to remain in the post till April 2.
