“Disgusting”: Former India cricketer slams Salman Khan’s outfit in Yentamma song

Former India spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s new song ‘Dhamal Macha Diya Hai’ from the upcoming film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’. The track, ‘Yentamma’ begins with Salman Khan dancing to his beats, which is also joined by co-star and veteran actor Venkatesh. The video shows Salman Khan and South star Venkatesh Daggubati twinning in bright yellow shirts, mundus and sunglasses. However, Sivaramakrishnan, who has played nine Tests and 16 ODIs, criticized the song for its inappropriate use of mundu (dhoti), saying it was “utterly ridiculous” and “disrespectful” to South Indian culture.

Sivaramakrishnan tweeted, “This is extremely ridiculous and an insult to our South Indian culture. It’s not a lungi, it’s a dhoti. A classical dress being shown in a disgusting manner.”

‘Yentamma’ is sung by Vishal Dadlani and Payal Dev and an additional portion of rap is written and sung by Raftaar. The song is written by Shabbir Ahmed and music is given by Payal Dev.

The song will release worldwide on Sunday, 9th April.

Salman is once again gearing up for his big Eid release ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’.

Her previous film Radhe failed to impress the audience, but her extended cameo in the Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathan has fueled fans with renewed energy.

Apart from Salman, the film stars Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde and Jagapathi. Baboo with an ensemble cast.

The shooting of the film began in May 2022 and wrapped up in February earlier this year. It is scheduled to release on 21 April 2023 on the occasion of Eid.
