“Disgusting”: Video of woman spitting while making alcohol goes viral

How weird is too weird?! Let it be said that there is no dearth of unusual content on social media. And, when it comes to food, the internet never fails to surprise or stun us. Recently, another clip was added to the wide collection of bizarre videos. Warning: This may disgust you to the core! In this clip shared on Instagram, a woman is making some kind of drink in a big vessel. She picks up a piece from the pot and puts it in her mouth. what next? After chewing it, she spits it into the cooking pot and keeps stirring it. The video, captioned “Eat food secret recipe… everyone should taste this delicacy,” was captioned with the hashtags: “omg”, “dirty food”, and “disgusting but delicious.”

The video, which has now garnered over 3.4 million views, has sent the internet into a tizzy. While many were accusing the woman of starting “a new epidemic”, a group of Instagram users noted that she was making “alcoholic chicha, a traditional fermented drink from the Amazonian region of Ecuador”.

One of them commented: “I think they make alcoholic chicha in South America and the spit acts as a fermentation starter.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, another said, “It’s called chicha, a traditional fermented drink from the Amazonian region of Ecuador. Yeah, sounds bad but it’s worth it.”
