Government Engineering College, Wayanad (GECW) in association with Exalture Software Labs, a Kochi-based software company, has launched a program called Development and Integration of Students Headway Advancement (DISHA) to improve the practical skills of engineering students.

Disha is a model that is shaping the way we create the ideal environment, paving the way for businesses to set up “parallel squads” in educational institutions to educate students about the importance of coding standards, project management, quality assurance, and deadlines. I can know VS Anita, Principal, GECW said. He added that this would secure the progress and drive of the students, shape them to know more about the proper etiquettes to follow within the firm.

A good education will be provided to the students by forming a team from different batches. This type of training will help students gain an understanding of the work routine and culture of the organization. In addition, it enhances their practical knowledge by training them in using up-to-date versions of industry standard tools and encouraging them to engage in various real-world tasks and projects, said Dr. Anita.

Ingenuity and valuable discoveries of students or faculty will be followed with extensive discussion and windowing. Once the idea is tested, the two teams will work together to develop a plan to implement the idea and bring it to fruition. He added that when the students complete their graduation, they will have a firm grip on the essentials of the corporate world, which will ensure a seamless transition into an organizational workforce.
