James Wan’s banner will debut in live-action series format with Atomic Monster Show

Disney-branded television is in the early stages of developing a live-action series based on “King Kong”, tracking the iconic monster’s origin story.

According to entertainment website time limitJames Wan’s banner will make its debut in the live-action series format with The Atomic Monster Show.

“Paper Girls” creator Stephanie Folsom wrote the action-adventure drama that sets the classic monster tale in the contemporary world with a return to Skull Island and the dawn of a new Kong.

The series will focus on the mythology of King Kong’s origin story and the supernatural mysteries of his home. It will be based on original films by writer-director Marion C. Cooper and new novels by Joe DeVito’s King Kong.

Folsom Van will produce the show along with Michael Clear and Rob Hackett of Atomic Monsters and Danny Festa and Mark Manus of World Builder Entertainment.
