It has been two years since the untimely demise of Irrfan Khan.
I really don’t believe the fact that he’s not there. I think his eclectic presence in films, the legacy he has left, and its relevance will not let anyone feel that he is not around.

You are one of the lucky actors to work with him. What do you think sets him apart from others?
I think everyone has their own different style. However, what set Irrfan Khan apart was his obstinate style. Just the magic he had created in that moment. It showed in his work. It was very natural and straight from the heart. And to add to it, the smile he had in his eyes. He made an impact just by looking at the camera. It was wonderful. He had a style that was subtle and effortless. There was something really romantic in all of his performances.

Irrfan Khan has been a part of few content-oriented and performance-driven films in his career. Do you think they would have enjoyed this phase of OTT where content has become king?
He was definitely someone who loved to experiment with his work. He would have loved to blossom OTT. As far as I know, he was working on something. It would have been a privilege for me to see him on OTT as well. But now his films are on OTT and that’s how I feel he has made his presence felt.
