Diwali is all about lights, good food and most importantly sweets! While many of us are already diet conscious, this Diwali we should not compromise on our sweet craving. There are many options for Diwali sweets that are healthy too! Here are 3 such healthy laddu recipes from the kitchen of founder Natasha Sandeep, good in one bite.

Ragi and mixed nuts

Add a healthy twist to your laddoos this year with Ragi and Mixed Nuts Ladoo

Makes: 6-8 laddoos

Component

Ragi: 1 cup

Ghee: 4 tbsp

Jaggery: 1/2 cup

Mixed nuts: a handful (almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts)

Method

  • Dry roast the dry fruits and chop them finely and keep aside
  • Put ghee in a non stick pan and fry the ragi on low flame till it turns dark in color (about 10 minutes)
  • Put jaggery in the same pan, add 3 tbsp water and cook till the jaggery melts completely. Now add roasted ragi powder and dry fruits and mix. Let it cool down for sometime and roll it

Oats and dark chocolate laddoos

Make this year special with Healthy Oats and Dark Chocolate Ladoo

Makes: 6-8

Component

Oats: 1/4 cup

Almonds and Hazelnuts: 1/4 cup

Soft Dates: 1/2 cup

Vanilla Essence: 1/4 tsp

Peanut Butter: 2 tbsp

Dark Chocolate Chips: 1/2 cup

Method

  • Roast oats, nuts, coconut separately
  • Put all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse a few times until the ingredients come together as a sticky dough
  • make balls and keep aside
  • Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave, dip these balls and coat them well in the chocolate and refrigerate for 4 hours.

Moong Dal Laddu

This festive season will be incomplete without moong dal laddus

Makes: 6-8

Moong dal: 1 cup

Jaggery: 1/2 cup

Ghee: 4 tbsp

Cardamom: 1/2 tsp

Method

  • Fry moong dal on low flame for 5 minutes. Make a powder and sieve it and keep it aside
  • Take a pan, add ghee to it and fry this powder on low flame for 12-15 minutes. Switch off the gas and let the mixture cool
  • Add grated jaggery and cardamom to this mixture and put it in a mixer and grind it till the dough is kneaded.
  • Put roasted almonds in the flour and keep it for laddoos.
