DK Shivakumar’s “heart to heart” ‘unity’ push with Siddaramaiah in Congress

In an effort to project a united front three days before Karnataka goes to polls to elect a new government, state Congress chief DK Shivakumar has shared a short video “Dil Se Dil Ki” with his party colleague and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Tweeted the clip. Two top Congress leaders, who are seen as top contenders for the post of Chief Minister if the old party manages to topple the BJP government, have opened up about their health, a helicopter crashand people’s support for their party in different areas during the election campaign.

Amidst the intense #KarnatakaAssemblyElection2023 campaigns, Shri Siddaramaiah and I (sic) sat down for a heart to heart talk.

DK Shivakumar told Siddaramaiah, “We barely survived the helicopter incident.

The conversation then turns to both how people’s response to the Congress during the election campaign was “beyond expectation”. They discuss the people’s support for their party in the areas where they campaigned.

The two leaders, often seen as competitors for the chief ministership, then discuss whether they will implement their “five guarantees” in the first cabinet meeting after coming to power, and the rest of the manifesto over the course of the next five years. Will implement the promises. ,

The Congress has five guarantees in the southern state – Griha Jyoti (which promises 200 units of free electricity to all), Griha Lakshmi (Rs 2,000 monthly to each female head of the household), Anna Bhagya (10 kg food grains) their choice – rice, ragi, jowar, bajra – for each person in a BPL household), Yuva Nidhi (an allowance of Rs 3,000 per month for two years to unemployed graduates and Rs 1,500 per month to unemployed diploma holders), and Shakti (regular KSRTC/ Free travel for all women across the state in BMTC buses).

The Congress party’s official Twitter account shared the video with the message “Together we are stronger”, adding that the conversation was a “sign of mutual respect and camaraderie” in the Karnataka Congress.
