Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said the Delhi government will implement a weekly action plan under which the MCD, PWD and other civic agencies will repair the city’s roads every week. According to an official notification, the city’s roads need attention from the concerned agencies like Public Works Department (PWD), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and New Delhi Municipal Committee (NDMC).
“The government has decided that the organizations should repair, maintain and improve at least one road per week, preferably on Saturdays,” the notification said. The notification issued by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar said that the progress of work would be uploaded on a portal by the organization concerned.

Once the roads are repaired, maintained or improved, the organization concerned shall ensure their regular cleaning and maintenance, it said. In a tweet in Hindi, Kejriwal said, “Delhi government’s weekly action plan to make city roads excellent. Every Saturday, each agency (PWD, MCD) will work towards making each road excellent in its jurisdiction.
The notification also said that market and resident welfare associations may be involved in the exercise to make it a people’s campaign.
