Mumbai: After two years of holiday and travel restrictions and the rise and fall of three Covid waves, Indians are tightening up their travel plans for the year 2022, according to the findings of a survey by an online travel company.
Nearly 68% of Indians surveyed said they were likely to travel domestically, while 39% said they would travel internationally within nine months after the travel restrictions are lifted.
According to the findings of a survey, “more than a fifth (21%) of Indian travelers are expected to travel domestically within a month of the easing of restrictions, while only 6% who are ready to jet set off internationally.” An online travel agency by Agoda.
The online survey was conducted between September 21 and 27, with a sample size of 1448 adults, the company said.
“A total of 10% and 16% of Indians would like to wait for more than a year before starting domestic and international travel respectively. However, the most cautious age group is the 45+ class, of which 28% do not plan. Until all Travel till the COVID-19 travel restrictions are lifted,” said the survey.
Although international travel has been put on hold for a while, around 39% of Indian travelers are expected to travel to international destinations within 2022, it said.
Again, nearly three in five Indians surveyed (58%) said they plan to take one to three vacations per year in the future, followed by four to six vacations per 10 in 10 , and only 4% plan to take seven to 10 vacations. A year breaks.
“While a quarter expect to take the same number of trips as in pre-pandemic times, the same amount plans to take more vacations each year in the future,” it said.
