West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee During an internal administrative party meeting held in Nadia district, Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra was reprimanded for allegedly her conduct towards the selection of TMC candidates for the elections and some factionalism within the Trinamool Congress. A short video of the meeting has gone viral on social media in which Moitra can be seen quietly nodding her head as Banerjee was talking to him.
Banerjee, who was taking stock of the situation in the district on Thursday, clearly said in the meeting that there should be no lobbying and questioning on party candidates and everyone will have to work together. “Mahua, let me give you a clear message here. I don’t see who is in favor or against. I don’t believe in politics of putting shows on YouTube, Paper, Digital etc. This kind of politics won’t last long. And it is not fair to expect that one person will be in one position forever.”

“When elections are held, the party will decide who will contest and who will not. So there should not be any kind of difference. Everyone has to work together,” Banerjee said.
Seeking further clarification in the matter, Banerjee asked Jayant, a person present in the meeting, about some YouTube videos. The man said, “Yes ma’am, there was a sabotage.” Responding to this, the chief minister said in Bengali, “I know who did it. I got it investigated by police, ADG law and order and CID. It was an incident staged and exposed in the media. We all have to work together.”
