Kejriwal, who was on a two-day visit to Gujarat, was traveling in an auto-rickshaw when he was stopped.

“I don’t need your protection. I want to go to the people. You are stopping me. Is this the protocol in Gujarat? Aapne toh me ki karna ki hai (You have imprisoned me). You don’t arrest me. Can do. This is an arrest. Why are you not giving permission to travel in auto?” In a video posted by Gujarat AAP on its Twitter handle, Kejriwal can be heard saying this.

Earlier today, Kejriwal accepted an auto-rickshaw driver’s invitation for dinner at his home in Ahmedabad. The AAP chief was stopped by the police on the way which led to a dispute. However, he was later allowed to go to the auto driver’s house.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday alleged that the Gujarat Police conducted “illegal” raids on its office in Ahmedabad and threatened to expose the BJP, saying it had evidence. However, the police denied that any raid was conducted at the office of Arvind Kejriwal-led party in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, AAP’s chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the police forcibly entered the office and conducted searches for two hours without any warrant or court order. The police team searched all the computers, went through all the documents kept in the party office and questioned the people there, they claimed, news agency PTI informed of.

The AAP leader further said that the party has evidence and they want to expose the BJP. These allegations have come after Kejriwal reached on a two-day tour on Sunday.

At a town hall in Ahmedabad in Gujarat today, Kejriwal alleged that investigative agencies were being used to conduct raids for extortion and not to eliminate corruption.

“We are a poor party with no money. The policemen searched our office for two hours and left. They were asking our people about money. When we said there was no money they left. Today the Ahmedabad Police said that there was no raid. This is surprising,” he said while commenting on the alleged raid.

“What’s going on in this country? Is this how a policed government (police state) works? Police is entering any house or office without valid papers,” he questioned.
