PTI had reported on 8 February that incremental has exited Ranji Trophy As he has been told that he will not be selected in the Indian team.
An explosive Wriddhiman told media persons on Saturday, “The team management told me that I will not be considered now. I couldn’t tell till I was part of the Indian team.”
“Even Coach Rahul” Dravidian suggested I think about taking retirement,” he spilled the beans on a classified conversation with the head coach.
Wriddhiman also hit out BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, whom he claimed, assured him that he should not worry about his place in the team.
“When I scored an unbeaten 61 in the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur last November while taking painkillers, my grandmother (as Sourav was referred to by the Bengal players) congratulated me on WhatsApp.
He said, “He even said that as long as he is at the helm of the BCCI, I should not worry about anything. This kind of message from the Board President really boosted my confidence. But I don’t understand that. Failed why everything changed so fast.”
