DSSP, Shiv Sena to join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in JK

Extending support to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Dogra Swabhiman Sanghatana party and Shiv Sena’s Jammu and Kashmir unit on Wednesday announced that they will join it when the march enters Jammu and Kashmir next week.

The DSSP was formed by former minister Chaudhary Lal Singh after parting ways with the BJP in 2018.

Two-time MP and three-time MLA Singh, who switched from Congress to BJP in 2014, asked all like-minded parties to support the yatra and defeat the “nefarious designs of enemies” within and outside the country.

“DSSP leading the Municipal Council Kathua will warmly welcome the Bharat Jodo Yatra on behalf of all the Dogras of Jammu. There is a need to defeat the forces bent on breaking the secular fabric of Jammu and Kashmir. “We will welcome and join the Bharat Jodo Yatra in the city of temples as directed by the party’s national secretary and MP Anil Desai. In these times of despair and hatred, a journey that gives the message of brotherhood is most needed in the country, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.

He alleged that religion and casteism were being used to divert public attention from various important issues like unemployment, price rise and economic crisis.

The yatra, which started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7, will end in Srinagar by January 30, with Gandhi hoisting the national flag in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
