DU Admissions: Higher cut-off this year, say college principals to candidates

New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) which will release the first cut-off list on October 1, is expected to have a higher cut-off than last year. This time more than 70,000 students have scored more than 95 percentile in CBSE Class 12 board exams.

A college principal, requesting anonymity, said that he is analyzing the data and the cut-off is going to be higher than last year.

Dr Bijaylakshmi Nanda, Principal, Miranda House said, “We will not have a 100 percent cut-off. The cut-off will be slightly calibrated compared to last time. The cut-off will be closer to 100, but we will be realistic with them.”

Last year, Lady Shri Ram College had 100% cut off for three courses.

St. Stephen’s cut-off was released, which was more or less similar, to last year’s score.

Around 70,000 seats are on hold under various courses and the admission process is online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The colleges will declare their first cut-off list on October 1 and admission will start from October 4 at 10 am and will go on till 11.59 pm on October 6, the university had said earlier.

The second cut-off will be announced on October 9, with admissions starting from October 11 at 10 am and ending on October 13 at 11.59 pm.

The University of Delhi (DU) said that admissions under the second list will be accepted till 5 pm on October 14 and the last date for payment will be October 15 at 5 pm.

The third list will be announced on October 16 and the admission process will start on October 18 at 10 am. Candidates will be able to apply for admission till October 21 at 11.59 pm.

DU, in its admission schedule, said that the colleges would approve admissions under the third list by 5 pm on October 22 and the last day for payment would be till 5 pm on October 23.
