Despite the numerical loss, Odisha FC fought hard but only conceded in the 98th minute with Shiva Shakti to score their fourth goal of the tournament. Odisha made a sudden move and looked to be a better team to turn the game around in a similar reversal with a well-placed header by Diego Mauricio from a Sahil Panwar free-kick in the 115th minute.

As the match was heading for a penalty shootout, this season’s recruited star of BFC, Roy Krishna scored a fine win with a goal in the final touch of the game (120th). Ralte made the mistake of hitting the ball out of touch with seconds to go for the final whistle. A quickly taken throw-in reached an unmarked Krishna from about 25-yards and the Fijian finished off a powerful right-footed curler to defeat Ralte.

Odisha will regret the few opportunities wasted in the extra time. Australian Osama got a free-header in the 103rd minute but his blow went straight to Gurpreet Sandhu.

Just before the end of the first half of extra time, Pedro Martin brilliantly overtook the BFC defense with a Rainier free-kick, but broke their connection, only to defeat Gurpreet. This was Bengaluru FC’s fourth straight semi-final in all four of their appearances in the oldest football tournament in Asia. But he hasn’t got any title yet.

BFC in their quest for the elusive Durand Cup title will take on the winners of Rajasthan FC and Hyderabad FC in the semi-finals on Thursday. The second semi-final on Wednesday will be between Mohammedan Sporting and the winners of Sunday’s match between Mumbai City FC and Chennaiyin FC.
