Duranga Trailer: Gulshan Devaiah, Drishti Dhami starrer promises an intriguing story; watch

ZEE5 today released the trailer of its much-awaited original series, Duranga. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar and Ejaz Khan, ‘Duranga’ is the official Indian adaptation of the Korean show, ‘Flowers of Evil’. Produced by Rose Audio Visuals, the 9-part series stars Gulshan Devaiah, Drishti Dhami, Abhijit Khandkekar, Barkha Sengupta, Rajesh Khattar, Divya Seth, Zakir Hussain and will premiere on ZEE5 on August 19.

Duranga – Jhooth Ke Do Rang unfolds a unique love story where Sammit Patel (played by Gulshan Devaiah) appears as the ideal man, father and husband. However, is this guy too good to be true? Meanwhile, Sammit’s inspector wife, Ira (played by Drishti Dhami), begins an investigation into a series of bloody copycat murders, twenty years after her suicide by a suspected accomplice of a psychopathic serial killer Bala. The case leads Ira to shocking revelations about her husband’s past and threatens to destroy an ideal family. Duranga mainly deals with the topic of how well do you know your partner and how strong is your relationship in the face of a hidden, twisted past?

Drishti Dhami said, “I am a huge fan of Korean dramas, so when I was approached to be a part of the first adaptation of a Korean series in the Indian market, I couldn’t contain my excitement! What drew him to the fore was its intriguing script, which packs a punch with all the elements that make up a great story – an unconventional love story and a hidden, twisted path from an ideal family and a series of crime scenes to unfolding. Till, Duranga has everything in it! Also, this is my first time playing the role of a police officer, so it was a dream role with a dream cast and crew.”

Gulshan Devaiah said, ‘What is seen with the eyes is not what is seen or is? He is sumptuous in a sentence, but I think humans are far more complex and gray than a sentence, and summaries are delightfully complex and all kinds of gray. He loves his family dearly, but he has a past which, if revealed, could take them away from him and so he must do whatever it takes to keep his family together. It was fun and challenging enough for me to explore the two sides of the committee and play seamlessly, one you see and the other you don’t. ,

Director Pradeep Sarkar said, “When I heard the story, I really liked the plot. In the dual character of Sammit, Gulshan Devaiah rocked while on the other hand Drashti Dhami was really good as a housewife/super cop. The more you delve into the story, it ignites the characters in different colors and every twist and turn is new. It puts you on edge and you don’t realize how the episodes go! I did my best to have a surprise element while working with the camera with the DOP Quais. The colors of the story are also depicted by the camera. After Mardaani, I got a suspense thriller space to work again. There was full support from Goldie to represent herself in the storytelling. I am sure the audience will be hooked to this in a binge. ,

Director Ejaz Khan, who co-directed the show, said, “The moment I was asked to do Flower of Evil, I jumped at it. It’s quite different from what I’ve done in the past and that’s what fascinates me. Duranga is our interpretation of the show. ,

Duranga will premiere on 19 August 2022 exclusively on ZEE5.
