Electric mobility platform eBikeGo has attracted over 1 lakh bookings for its electric moto-scooter, the Rugged, within just two months of its launch. According to a statement by eBikeGo, the company has so far received 1,06,650 paid bookings worth ₹1,000 crore. Ever since the rugged moto-scooter was launched, eBikeGo has closed the master franchise of the Rugged in three states, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. With this, eBikeGo has closed a total of 22 dealership stores in Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai and Bihar, as well as a cost and freight agent, the company said in the statement.

According to eBikeGo, brands such as BigBasket, Amazon, Delhivery, Zomato and other large food delivery and retail companies have expressed interest in rugged electric moto-scooters, and have signed on as significant B2B clients. In the two months since the launch of Rugged, eBikeGo has also collaborated with mBnk, a physical financial services marketplace, to launch Rugged in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. According to eBikeGo, Tier II and rural areas contribute around 67 per cent of the total eBikeGo bookings.

During the festive season, eBikeGo expects around 50,000 more bookings worth ₹500 crore in the coming months. eBikeGo is releasing the Rugged in four new colors for Diwali, Red, Blue, Black and Rugged Special Edition. According to the company, eBikeGo has several new states for the Rugged franchise, with ten more states in the works including Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi. For stronger reservations, eBikeGo is also setting up a referral program in which both the referrer and the referee will get a discount of ₹1,000 for each reference. Consumers can get Rugged for free if they recommend 100 or more individuals.

The battery offers a range of 160 km and can be charged in 3.5 hours. The Rugged has 30 liters of storage capacity and has a body made of steel, and a steel frame chassis. The rugged moto-scooter has 12 smart sensors integrated into it, and has an advanced IoT system with 4G.
