ED reaches source of funds in SSC scam involving Partha Chatterjee

Days after recovering Rs 21 crore from West Bengal minister and aide of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Partha Chatterjee, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has reached the source of funds in the Bengal school job scam case.

After several days of raids and two arrests, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has finally reached the source of money laundering in the Bengal school job scam case involving Minister Partha Chatterjee. Trinamool minister and her aide Arpita Mukherjee arrested The ED has taken this action in connection with the case after the probe agency recovered Rs 21 crore from Mukherjee’s residence in Kolkata.

Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee now Sent in ED custody till August 3,

While raiding a garment shop in Barasat in North 24 Parganas on Wednesday, the ED reached the source of the money trail. The role of the owner is also being probed. It is said that Parth used to visit that shop frequently.

Sources also told that Kanti Lal Saha, owner of Saha Textiles, Parth has a close friend who helped him in transferring the funds.

India Today has recovered pictures where Parth is seen drinking tea inside the outlet in Barasat. Another minister Rathin Ghosh can also be seen in the picture.

While sources said that Parth used to visit the showroom regularly, the ED claimed that Saha is a key figure in the alleged money transactions and is also suspected to have been involved in a hawala scam.

In other pictures, Kanti Lal Saha can be seen attending an event at Nalatala Udayan Sangh. This is the same program in which Arpita Nakatala appeared as the face of Udayan Sangha Puja.

Meanwhile, on the first day, ED questions TMC MLA Manik Bhattacharya in relation to the case. The investigating agency had summoned him on Tuesday.

Bhattacharya was recently removed as the chairman of the Bengal Board of Elementary Education following a court order.

The agency recovered several important documents related to the alleged recruitment scam from the recent raids at Bhattacharya’s residence.

According to the ED, Bhattacharya should be questioned regarding these documents.
