Education Minister, Health Minister ask children of 15 to 18 years to register in CoWIN

The registrations for Covid-19 vaccination for children in the age group of 15 to 18 years have started on the CoWIN portal cowin.gov.in. However, the vaccine option for children would be Covaxin only. It is eligible for all those who have lived in 2007 or earlier. The vaccination process will begin on Monday, January 3. Amid the reopening of schools across the country, many parents have been demanding the vaccination of their children for some time now.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan took to Twitter to urge children in the age group of 15 to 18 to register for the vaccine. “India is ready to start immunization of the young population. I urge my friends in the age group of 15 to 18 years to register on CoWIN. Also, appeal to parents to ensure that eligible people are vaccinated. We must not lower our guard and continue to follow COVID-appropriate protocols,” Pradhan tweeted.

Not only the Education Minister, the Health Minister has asked the children to register for CoWin. “If the children are safe then the future of the country is secure! On the occasion of New Year, registration on COWIN portal is being started for immunization of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years for #COVID19 from today. I request the family members to register the children eligible for vaccination. #SabkoVaccineMuftVaccine,” tweeted Dr Mansukh Mandaviya.

CoWin: How to Register

Step 1. Vaccination wishers can register on the official portal of CoWin by creating a new account using a valid mobile number.

Step 2. Students will need their student ID card to register

Step 3. You will receive an OTP on the mobile number. Submit to register

Step 4. Enter your pincode to check where the nearest Tika Kendra is

Step 5. Select the center and time. to present or to show. You will receive a notification confirming the details of the vaccine on the mobile number through which the registration has been done

CoWIN chief Dr RS Sharma has said that the children Bharat Biotech will have the option to choose between Covaxin And Zydus Cadila’s jab, although, for now, only Covaxin is available. Zydus Cadila’s anti-Covid vaccine ZyCoV-D is yet to be introduced in the country, though it received an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the drug regulator on August 20.
