Eight booked for forcing Dalit man to drink urine in Churu

A 25-year-old Dalit youth was allegedly abducted, thrashed and forced to urinate by eight men in Rajasthan’s Churu district over an old enmity. The police gave this information on Sunday.

He said that two accused have been arrested.

According to the complaint lodged with the police, Rakesh Meghwal, a resident of Rukhsar village, kidnapped her from his house at around 11 pm on January 27 and took her to the field in an SUV.

Mr. Meghwal alleged in his complaint at Ratangarh police station that they forced him to drink liquor after which he urinated in the same bottle and made it down his throat.

He also alleged that the accused used casteist slurs and other derogatory words saying that Dalits would be taught a lesson to face them as they all belonged to a ‘dominant’ community.

Police said the injury marks on Mr. Meghwal’s back confirm that he was attacked.

“It has been confirmed that he was beaten up and two accused have been arrested in connection with the case. Investigating officer and Ratangarh circle officer Himanshu Sharma said that it is alleged that he was forced to drink urine.

Two accused Umesh and Birbal have been arrested, while others Akshay, Rajesh, Rakesh, Tarachand, Bidadi Chand and Dinesh are absconding, he said.

They were booked under Indian Penal Code sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 365 (kidnapping) and 382 (theft after preparation to cause death, hurt or restraint) and scheduled caste. Is. Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the official said, the vehicle used in the crime has been recovered.

According to Mr. Meghwal, he was playing a local musical instrument named Chang on Holi during which the accused had made lewd remarks, leading to a confrontation between them for the first time.
