Ek Soch NGO and Shrestha Karmayogi Divyang Trust organizes one of a kind Garba program for specially abled people

A Soch NGO and Shrestha Karmayogi Divyang Trust of Gujarat has been in the news recently for organizing night Garba celebrations for specially abled people. Breaking all speculations, the Navratri celebrations for the differently-abled were attended by over 3500 participants. It is worth mentioning that the initiative was appreciated by people from all walks of life, and it was also cordially supported by the Commissioner, Sports, Youth and Cultural Department, Government of Gujarat. Thalassemia patients also participated in the event, making it one of the most prestigious celebrations of the vibrant metropolis of Gujarat. It began on 1 October 2022 at 7 pm, and felicitated members of NGOs for increasing inclusivity and acceptance among the general public by family members of the differently-abled.

Despite being a special festival for specially abled people, it was the biggest in Surat city. The program was declared a huge success, and the NGO team said that it was a tribute to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Mission for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

Social activist and founder of Ek Soch NGO Ritu Rathi said, “I am really speechless and Divyang Navratri Garba celebrations did not expect such a huge response. I thank everyone with folded hands and work even harder for this. I promise. Our specially-abled brothers and sisters. We are grateful for the public participation and institutional support from the Government of Gujarat.”

Also, Shrestha Karma Yogi Divyang Trust President Shailesh Bhai Rakhkholia expressed his gratitude and played an important role in motivating and giving a platform to specially abled people over the years. The event was attended by various political dignitaries, saints, NGOs, different societies, businessmen and people from different castes and creeds who came together in large numbers to support such an event. Notably, due to the COVID-19 guidelines, celebrations like Divyang Navratri have not been organized for the past few years.
