Eknath Shinde not Shiv Sena CM, BJP not sticking to deal in 2019: Uddhav Thackeray India News – Times of India

Mumbai: A day after the shocking decision to make rebel leader Eknathi Shinde Chief Minister and BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis Deputy Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray Questioned the move to appoint a so-called Shiv Sainik to the post of Chief Minister when BJP Didn’t live up to his promise of sharing the top post with Shiva for equal tenure Shiv Sena in 2019.

“What happened yesterday was our exact proposal for the BJP in 2019. Had the BJP kept its word, the Maha Vikas Aghadi would never have happened, I would not have been the Chief Minister. If they wanted to make Shiv Sainik the Chief Minister, why did they not agree then and what has changed today? Thackeray said in his first public appearance after losing power in the state.
Thackeray, who resigned from the chief minister’s post two days ago, said if the BJP thought it could divide Shiv Sainiks by making Shinde the chief minister, they were wrong.

“First of all, we do not consider him (Eknath Shinde) as the chief minister of the army. You can’t make Shiv Sena chief minister bypassing the party.
Commenting on the formation of random alliances after the election, Thackeray said it is time voters have the right to recall an elected representative if he keeps jumping from party to party. “Balasaheb used to say that people should have the option to call back their representatives. Looking at the developments of the last few days, the time has come to bring this law, giving people the right to call them back,” he said.
The BJP and Shiv Sena had fought the 2019 state elections in alliance, but parted ways over sharing of the chief minister’s post. Thackeray claimed that there was an agreement between him and BJP’s Amit Shah to share the chief minister’s post for 2.5-2.5 years.
He said, ‘If BJP had kept its word, it would have been its CM for 2.5 years. Even today he is away from CM’s seat. What has he achieved by doing this?” During his appearance, Thackeray said.
