Ekta Kapoor files complaint with police against fake casting agents

leading manufacturer Ekta Kapoor has filed a police complaint against “fake casting agents” who used his name to make calls and extort money from aspiring actors by promising them roles in their upcoming productions.

on Sunday, Ekta Kapoor And his companies Balaji Telefilms Limited and ALT Digital Entertainment issued a statement saying that they never demanded money from any candidate. The company is taking necessary action and urged people to report any suspicious casting calls.

“It has come to our notice that some persons are falsely representing themselves by using forged documents to claim themselves as casting agents for Balaji Telefilms Limited and/or ALT Digital Entertainment Private Limited to earn monetary and other profits. Balaji Telefilms Limited has filed a police complaint. Such people,” the statement read.

“Any acting aspirant, dealing with such persons, shall do so at his/her own risk and shall not be held responsible/liable for any loss or damage to Balaji Telefilms Ltd., ALT Digital Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Ekta R. Kapoor. It is hereby held It is clarified that Balaji Telefilms Limited, ALT Digital Entertainment Private Limited and Ms. Ekta R. Kapoor have never demanded and will not demand money from any candidate.

Ekta Kapoor and her company also shared an official email ID to report such frauds.

“In the event, you find a casting call suspicious, please notify us immediately at our official email id balajicasting@balajitelefilms.com with details of such agents,” the statement read. Kapoor is the Joint Managing Director and Creative Head of Balaji Telefilms Limited since 1994.
