With just two days left for campaigning, political parties including BJP, Congress and AAP are leaving no stone unturned to woo voters in Himachal. The hill state will go to polls on November 12 and the model code of conduct will come into force from Thursday evening.

Days before the elections, the Congress party suffered a major setback in Himachal as several party leaders and members from the hill state, including former general secretary of the Pradesh Congress Committee Dharampal Thakur Khand, joined the BJP on Monday. A total of 26 Congress leaders have quit voting and joined the ruling BJP in less than a week.

Considered to be a swing state, all eyes are on who can occupy the coveted seat of power in Himachal. The BJP is making concerted efforts to retain Himachal Pradesh, famous for its anti-incumbency wave, while new players like you are trying to make inroads.

Claiming that Gujarat is governed by Delhi and not by the state’s chief minister, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Tuesday attacked the BJP for the Morbi tragedy and said, “It is shocking that the Morbi bridge accident has no blame for the tragedy.” Did not apologize or resign. Chidambaram also took a dig at AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said, “If you have lived in Delhi as long as I have been, and if you believe in the air (quality) in Delhi, you Will not vote for Kejriwal. BJP President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with party leaders from Gujarat here on Tuesday to consider candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. This was followed by a marathon meeting on Monday, which took place at Shah’s residence and was attended by BJP leaders from Gujarat. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress have announced their candidates for 130 and 43 seats respectively.

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the slogan, the BJP on Tuesday officially launched its campaign song for the 2022 Gujarat elections “Aa Gujrat, Aame Banavyu Che” (We have made it Gujarat)”. The song is a three-minute montage, containing clips of PM Modi’s speech, video clips of his recent rallies and images of major projects like Gift City and Statue of Unity woven in the middle.

The process of filing nominations for the first phase of the two-phase assembly elections in Gujarat began on Monday after an independent candidate submitted his nomination papers to the authorities in Amreli district, an official release said.

Himachal will go to polls in a single phase on November 12, while Gujarat will go to polls in two phases on December 1 and 5. Counting of votes for both the states will take place on December 8.
