The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) on Thursday conducted a speed test of an electric locomotive on the newly electrified section between Karwar in Karnataka and Varna in Goa.
KRCL’s Zonal Railway Manager, Karwar, BB Nikam flagged off the Electric Loco with Diesel Loco in the evening. Electrification work between Karwar and Varna (116 km), covering a major junction, Margao, was recently completed.
The section between Thokur near Mangaluru from where KRCL’s network starts and Karwar is already electrified.
