Elephant tries to revive its dead calf, heart-wrenching video dominates the internet

A mother’s love for her child knows no bounds. This is true not only in the case of humans but also in the case of animals. Recently, a video of an elephant trying to revive its dead calf has gone viral on social media. The heart-wrenching video from Assam has caught the attention of many social media users.

The short clip has been shared by several users including Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Sushant Nanda. The newborn elephant had strayed from the herd and died three days ago. However, the mother did not abandon her calf. Instead, the mother elephant carried the baby two kilometers and tried to revive him by placing him in the river current. In the short clip, the elephant, along with another member of the herd, can be seen making various attempts to scratch the baby, using their trunk to wake the calf. However, all efforts go in vain.
