Elon Musk calls Twitter’s algorithm ‘user rigged’

Tech billionaire Elon Musk said on Sunday that microblogging site Twitter’s algorithm could be manipulating users and suggested a solution.

Musk mentioned in a series of tweets that it is very important to fix the Twitter feed and shared how it can be done.

“You’re being manipulated by algorithms in ways you don’t realize. It’s easy to switch back and forth to see the difference,” Musk wrote on the microblogging site.

To fix the Twitter feed, Musk mentions that users can tap the Home button, then, tap the stars at the top right of the screen and select “Latest Tweets.”

Meanwhile, former CEO Jack Dorsey responded in a tweet, saying that the Twitter algorithm was “designed only to save you time”.

Musk later noted that he was not suggesting any malpractices in the algorithm.

Musk wrote, “I’m not suggesting algorithmic malice, but rather trying to guess what you want to read and, in doing so, inadvertently manipulate/enhance your approach, without realizing it.” That this is happening,” Musk wrote.
