Billionaire Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter last month for $44 billion, shared a “real” photo of the company’s headquarters in San Francisco, United States, on Friday.

“Twitter HQ is great (this is a real photo),” Mr Musk said in the caption of the image, which showed “#GameOver” written on the wall of a green fake plant. “This video is from the arcade and bar area,” he wrote in the following tweet.

Mr Musk’s tweets come after the announcement that the micro-blogging website suspended an $8 subscription program launched earlier this week to tackle the growing problem of users impersonating major brands. It also comes days after Twitter reinstated the “official” removal it had given to some accounts.

Ever since Elon Musk took over as Twitter’s new boss and allowed paying customers to receive a verified blue check mark, the company has been battling fraudulent accounts. From a verified yet fake account of American basketball player LeBron James to fake Nintendo accounts in America with blue ticks, many users are abusing the new feature to impersonate others.

This resulted in the company bringing back the ‘official’ tag, which it had discarded within hours of its launch on Wednesday. “To combat impersonation, we have added an ‘official’ label to some accounts,” Twitter Support tweeted today.

Elon Musk, on the other hand, tweeted, “Going forward, accounts engaged in parody should include a “parody” in his name, not just a bio”. “To be more precise, accounts that parody impersonation. Basically, it’s not okay to trick people,” he clarified.
