An official said that the Bangalore to Patna-bound Go First flight with 139 passengers had to make an emergency landing at Nagpur airport on Saturday due to an engine failure of the aircraft.

The aircraft landed safely at the airport at 11.15 am, the official said.

Airport director Abid Roohi said, “The pilot of GoFirst flight contacted Nagpur ATC to inform that one of the aircraft’s engines was facing problem and requested to make an emergency landing at Nagpur airport.”

He said that apart from the crew members, there were 139 passengers on board.

“We made all necessary arrangements by declaring it as a full-scale emergency, including providing runways, fire brigade, doctors, ambulances and required coordination with the police. Fortunately, the flight made a safe landing,” said Mr. Roohi. he said.

A statement issued by GoFirst (erstwhile GoAir) said that Bengaluru to Patna flight G8 873 was diverted to Nagpur “due to a faulty engine warning in the cockpit, prompting the captain to shut down the engine as a precaution.” had to do”.

“Thereafter, the captain followed standard operating procedures and landed safely at Nagpur airport. All passengers were de-boarded and refreshed were served. Go First took utmost care and provided all necessary assistance to the passengers,” Said it.
