Eminent women’s rights activist, poet and writer Kamala Bhasin passed away on Saturday. She was 75 years old.
Activist Kavita Srivastava said on Twitter that Bhasin breathed his last at around 3 am.
Bhasin has been a prominent voice in the women’s movement in India and other South Asian countries.
“Kamala Bhasin, our dear friend, passed away today on 25 September around 3 am. This is a big blow to the women’s movement in India and the South Asian region. She celebrated life in adversity. Kamala you are always ours. Will live in hearts. In sisterhood, who is in deep sorrow,” tweeted Kavita Srivastava.
