Energy Conservation Awards announced

The awards were announced on Sunday by the State Level Monitoring Committee for Energy Conservation constituted by the Center for Energy Management.

Travancore Cochin Chemicals Limited, Udyogamandal has won the Kerala State Energy Conservation Award 2021 in the massive energy consumer category. Milma Diary Palakkad was adjudged the best medium scale energy consumer.

The awards were announced on Sunday by the State Level Monitoring Committee for Energy Conservation constituted by the Center for Energy Management.

In the Building category, Gateway Varkala – IHCL Selections, Varkala was declared the winner, while Kerala State Electricity Board Limited emerged as the winner in the Institutions and Organizations category. Each award carries a cash prize of ₹100,000.

The Certificate of Commendation will be awarded to Nitta Gelatin India Limited, Kakkanad in the large scale energy consumer category. Other citation winners are: Indane Bottling Plant, Cochin (Medium Energy Consumer Category), BEML Limited, Palakkad Complex (Small Energy Consumer Category), F5 Sustainability Consultants, Kochi (Architect & Green Building Consultants Category), Cherukara Industries, Aluva (Retailer & Trader Category), NavAlt Solar & Electric Boats Pvt Ltd, Ernakulam & Kerala Water Authority (Institution & Organization Category) and Mallika G, Pathanamthitta (For Individual Endeavors).

The winners were chosen from 78 entries received in eight different categories. The total savings in electricity and oil by the applicants were estimated to be 621 mu (million units) and 45345 tow (tonne oil equivalent), defined as the amount of energy released by burning one tonne of crude oil.
