Essar Capital Limited, the investment manager of Essar Global Fund Limited, has appointed Anil Kumar Choudhary, former chairman and managing director of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), as the chief executive officer for its metals and mining business.
He will be a member of the executive committee, and will be instrumental in driving forward investment strategy and growth in the metals and mining sector, both domestically and globally, a company statement said.
Chowdhary has also been the Chairman of International Coal Ventures Limited (ICVL) and mjunction Services Limited. He also held the post of Chairman of Steel Research and Technology Mission of India (SRTMI). Presently, he is the Chairman of the Minerals and Metals Committee of PHDCCI.
Choudhary will drive and implement a strategic business plan for Essar Capital’s Metals & Mining vertical and its growth and value creation.
