Everton boss Frank Lampard accused of improper conduct by the FA

Everton manager Frank Lampard has been accused of inappropriate conduct by the Football Association (FA) for comments made after his team lost 2-0 to Merseyside rivals Liverpool last month.

Lampard criticized referee Stuart Atwell for not penalizing Everton’s Anthony Gordon for a challenge, with the manager suggesting that a spot kick would have been awarded if the Liverpool player had been challenged.

“It is alleged that the manager’s comments constitute improper conduct because they prejudice and/or attack the integrity of the match referee – or the referee in general – and/or defame the game contrary to FA Rule E 3.1.” are,” said the FA. on Wednesday.

Lampard, whose team is in the relegation zone, has until 9 May to respond to the FA.
