Bengaluru-based food blogger Kripal Amanna posted about her 5-course meal at a 5-star restaurant, which according to her turned out to be quite expensive. She wrote, “7500 plus taxes! Around 10 grand per person for a meal in Bengaluru! For the meal alone, the five courses look good but not overly luxurious or appealing. Is it just me who thinks our five star Hotels now live in parallel.” Universe!?”

A user suggested that food in 5-star hotels is meant for corporates and the cream of society, not the middle class.
It’s not worth the middle class for the corporates and the cream of the society – Randomthisway (@Randomthiswayy) April 27, 2023
Another user supported it by saying that meals in 5-star restaurants are usually sponsored by companies for business meetings. “It’s more to satisfy commercial interest than stomach,” he said.
Most of the bills are paid by the sponsors… like company paid, corporate sponsor, marketing expenses, advocacy development, business deal meeting etc. So it is more to satisfy business interest than stomach 🤓 — medixraghu (@medixraghu) medix raghu) April 27, 2023

Not just 5 stars but many standalone fine-dine restaurants are also overpriced.. and barring a few legendary names, the quality of food everywhere is mediocre.. There is a big difference in VFM compared to other metros..- Anoop Kumar (@KumarWini) ) April 27, 2023
