External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on July 12 took a tough stand on the India-China border issue and said that any unilateral attempt to change the Line of Actual Control (LAC) will not be “repulsed” by India. Addressing a press conference, Jaishankar said, “In the last two years, we have been very clear and very effective in ensuring that no attempt will be made by us to unilaterally change the status quo along the Line of Actual Control. Discussions are going on between our side and the Chinese side.” “These relate to friction points where we are closely positioned with each other. The focus is on seeing if disconnection is possible at those fiction points. Last year, there was a fair bit of disengagement and there are still some issues where Both sides are closely deployed,” he said.
