Hamilton leads the F1 world championship in the current season

After completing his 100th victory in F1, Lewis Hamilton has revealed that it is quite surprising that he has never driven for Ferrari which is by all accounts the most prestigious F1 team. He said that Tifosi of Monza has always welcomed him and urged him to drive for his favorite team, but that was never really possible and he had no clue.

“Over the years, whenever I come to Monza and look at the fans, I hear them say ‘Come to Ferrari! Didn’t drive for Ferrari. Because it’s a dream for everyone, a goal to achieve. It’s never really been possible and I’ll never know exactly,” said the 7-time world champion.

Hamilton revealed he has a few Ferrari road cars at home, but he will probably never drive a Ferrari F1 car when he turns 36 and is under contract with Mercedes until the 2023 season.

“I wish them all the best and in the near future, I have to stop them from winning the world championship instead. I have some Ferraris at home that I can drive, but not F1 Ferraris,” the defending world champion added.

Hamilton said he felt inspired to stay in the sport because he now has a chance to show off his skills against a younger generation of drivers, who are all very talented and backed by big teams.

“Honestly, I’m not afraid of it. But that’s why I want to stay in F1 because it will be an opportunity to really show my skills. I believe my experience can be important to the team, But also for development. About George, who is already very fast, but he will definitely learn from me, because I have been in F1 for the longest time,” he spoke exclusively of George Russell Huey, who has been named Hamilton’s successor at Mercedes.

“And I’ll be able to learn from them, too. I don’t mind learning a little bit,” Hamilton said. “I have no fear, I just want to win. Yes, I’m huge and they’re not afraid of anything. I love watching them drive. I hope I still deserve my place here, Reply I am able to give. For them in the most effective way possible,” he explained.

In 2021, Hamilton finds himself up against old foes such as Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, but at the other end of the spectrum notably Ferrari and Red Bull, and increasingly McLaren, his old team, have replaced Charles Leclerc, Max Supporting young talents like Verstappen, and Lando Norris. Notably against Verstappen, who is touted as one of F1’s future stars, Hamilton is embroiled in a titanic battle for the world championship, the first of its kind in the sport’s turbo-hybrid era – the number one Reminds me of the friction between Senna and Prost between 1988 and 1990.
