Facebook releases ‘Year Together’ card to share the best moments of 2021

Facebook has rolled out the ‘Year Together’ card feature on the company’s Android and iOS apps, which allows users to share highlights and top moments from the past year. The company, which was recently rebranded to Meta, has launched a similar feature on Instagram, allowing users to share their top ten stories of the year. Users will be able to view photos, places, and other experiences friends have shared on the platform as part of an accompanying year card. Facebook has started rolling out this feature, which can be used till the end of the year.

The Year Together feature will suggest posts and content shared by a user, which will be compiled and shared as posts, like spotty by TechCrunch. However, user suggested posts are not limited to Facebook, and they can delete and select other images or content instead. This can come in handy in case users don’t want to relive specific memories from the previous year. Once shared, the post (or card) will be visible to the user’s friend list or to select users if they have set custom privacy settings for the post.

meta key The effort to inspire users to reminisce and relive the best moments of their year isn’t just limited to the Facebook app. The company has also rolled out a similar feature. instagram users called 2021 Playback, which shows a user a list of their top stories for the year. These can be compiled and shared with your followers on the image and video sharing service. Like The Year Together card on Facebook, the feature allows users to mix and match stories older than 2021 in their own story archive.

Facebook and Instagram aren’t the first apps to launch these annual review features in 2021. This feature is common in apps designed for social engagement and the popular streaming service. Spotify Every year Spotify also offers a similar feature called Wrapped. Spotify Wrapped Had a 2021 Edition announced On December 1st and gives users the ability to view statistics such as what artists listened to the most, the top songs they played, and the amount of time they spent listening to music.
