The third wife of a Pakistani TV host has filed for divorce saying her husband was “worse than the devil” and alleging that he used to beat her while intoxicated.

Syeda Dania Shah, the third wife of Pakistan’s famous TV host Aamir Liaquat, filed a Khula (Women’s Right to Divorce) from her husband, saying that Liaquat was not the way he presented himself on television screens and was “from the devil”. even worse.”

Speaking about her relationship with her husband, Shah said that Liaquat was different from her on-screen persona, adding that the four months of her marriage with him were nothing but “agonies”.
Shah also alleged that her husband used to keep her in a small room.
“He used to beat me while drunk,” Shah said. “Aamir is threatening me and my family with dire consequences,” he said.
Shah has filed for divorce and has also filed other cases in the family court. In her petition, she has requested the court to order maintenance of her husband including house and jewellery.
The matter is to be heard on June 7.
