The former PM further said, “If the government suppresses (farmers), abuses laws and suppresses peaceful agitation, we will not hesitate to join the farmers’ struggle and stand with them.”
“We support their genuine demands, and if the government tries to intimidate us, or misuse the laws, or disregard the peaceful movement of farmers, we will also become part of the movement,” he says.
Gandhi has also demanded strict action against those responsible for the deaths of four farmers allegedly linked to BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri.
