Farmers wrote letter to TNERC on SFS electricity connection

Farmers organisation, Vivasayagal Sangam has written to Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission to draw its attention to Tangedco officials refusing to allow changes in Self Finance Scheme (SFS) applications.

In a letter, the association said that TANGEDCO officials had allowed the applicant farmers to make changes in the application for free electricity, but they refused to consider the same applications as the farmers applying under the SFS.

To allow farmers to change survey numbers in applications filed under the regular scheme, officials cited the commission’s order but declined it for farmers applying under SFS.

The farmers demanded a change in the survey numbers as the open well or borewell for which they wanted a connection at the time of submitting the application would have dried up now, as they had to face a very long waiting period.

Applicant farmers will demand change in survey number for new borewell or any other well, the association explained and added that what was applied for applicant farmers applying under regular scheme should also be applicable to applicant farmers under SFS. needed.

The association said that only the commission can direct TANGEDCO officials to allow such applications.
