German umpire Ben Goentgen was taken off the field for immediate treatment.
In a bizarre incident, German umpire Ben Goentgen was hit in the face during a penalty corner strike at the FIH Men’s. World The quarterfinal match of the cup was played here on Wednesday between Netherlands and South Korea.
Goentgen was immediately taken off the field for treatment.

The incident happened in the 28th minute when South Korean Jang Jonghyun’s stinging drag flick deflected off the stick of a Netherlands player and hit Goentgen, who was standing a few meters from the goal post.
Goentgen collapsed in pain while his New Zealand co-umpire Gareth Greenfield and medical staff from the tournament organizers rushed to his aid.
The injured umpire held his face with one hand and was escorted off the field by medical staff.
He was later replaced by the reserve umpire of the match, Raghu Prasad of India.
