FIH World Rankings: Women’s hockey team ranked sixth, India’s best ever

Meanwhile, the Indian men’s hockey team slipped to the fourth spot, but the women’s side moved up one place to sixth in the latest FIH world rankings released on Monday.

At the top, Australia (2842.258) and the Netherlands (3049.495) remained the world number one ranked teams in the men’s and women’s rankings. In the men’s category, the Netherlands (2465.707) followed India (2366.990) at the third spot on the basis of their impressive results in the FIH Pro League.

Germany (2308.156) remains fifth but England’s (2171.354) recent victories over France and South Africa helped them move up to sixth place ahead of Argentina (2147.179).

Further in the table, New Zealand (1798.247) is ranked eighth, followed by Spain (1779.462) and Malaysia (1704.115), who moved into the top 10 due to strong performances in the ongoing Hockey Asia Cup.
