Finale event of Bharat Jodo Yatra on Monday; 12 opposition parties to participate, TMC among others

Bharat Jodo Yatra Concludes: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reportedly wrote personal letters to several opposition parties inviting them to participate in the concluding ceremony of the Ekta March.

After covering a distance of nearly 4,000 kilometers in nearly five months, the concluding ceremony of the Bharat Jodo Yatra will take place in Kashmir on January 30. The Congress has reportedly invited 21 ‘like-minded’ opposition parties for the grand finale, but several major parties are likely to skip it.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reportedly wrote personal letters to several opposition parties, inviting them to participate in the final event of the Ekta March.

“I now personally invite you to attend the closing ceremony of the Bharat Jodo Yatra on January 30,” he said in a letter that he sent to 21 opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress, Janata Dal (United), Shiv Sena- UBT, Telugu Desam Party, National Conference (both Farooq and Omar Abdullah were invited), Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, DMK, CPI, CPI(M), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, RJD (both Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav) , RLD, Hindustan Awam Morcha, Peoples Democratic Party, Nationalist Congress Party, MDMK, VCK, IUML, KSM and RSP.

Despite Kharge’s letter, several major opposition parties including TMC, SP and TDP are likely to skip the event.

According to NDTV, 12 opposition parties will participate Rahul Gandhi For the closing ceremony of the Bharat Jodo Yatra which started on 7th September last year in Kanyakumari.

MK Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, CPI ( M), CPI Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Kerala Congress, Farooq Abdullah-led Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Mehbooba Mufti’s Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Shibu Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) from Srinagar. is expected to attend the function. on Monday.

Sunday was the last walking day of the yatra. The yatra started from Pantha Chowk on Sunday morning and ended near Nehru Park on Boulevard Road in the city. Rahul Gandhi unfurled the national flag at the city’s Lal Chowk in the presence of sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party leaders.

The ambitious journey has covered 12 states and two union territories – Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
