Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman laid the foundation stone of Income Tax Office building in Bengaluru.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the Income Tax Department’s office building in Bengaluru, which officials said would be unique in its kind, with maximum natural lighting and home rating IV compliant.

He said the building has provision for solar panels and rainwater harvesting system for power generation.

The recycled water will be used for gardening and dual plumbing. Officials said the central air cleaning system will be equipped with magnetic filters and UV-ray sterilization.

Officials said the state-of-the-art building would include a special public relations office and a waiting room for taxpayers to address grievances on a priority basis.

It also has Aayakar Seva Kendra to provide hassle free taxpayer services. This centrally located office building is taxpayer friendly. He said that the design and space allocation of the building provides a conducive working environment for the officers and employees of the Income Tax Department.
