New Delhi:

The Union Budget 2022-23 will be presented in a paperless form on February 1, 2022, by the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman.

To mark the final stage of the Union Budget making process, sweets were provided to core employees due to “lock-in” at their workplace instead of halwa ceremony due to the ongoing pandemic and health safety concerns.

There is a “lock-in” of officials involved in budget making to maintain the secrecy of the budget. The Budget Press, located inside the North Block, houses all the officers for the period leading up to the presentation of the Union Budget.

These officers and employees will come in contact with their loved ones only after the Union Finance Minister presents the budget in Parliament.

The Union Budget 2022-23 will be available on the mobile app after it is presented in the Parliament. The app will provide easy and quick access to the information of the Union Budget to all the stakeholders.

It is a bilingual app (English and Hindi) and is available on both Android and iOS platforms.
