Police said an FIR has been registered against unidentified persons after a video defaming a woman spokesperson of Delhi BJP was posted on the social media platform.
DCP (New Delhi) Amrita Guguloth said that a case has been registered at Cyber Police Station in New Delhi district under sections of IPC related to sexual harassment and IT Act.
The complaint, filed by the Delhi BJP, said certain videos and “misinformation” against its spokesperson were going viral, “targeting and insulting modesty of women using electronic mode”.
“…the act was intended to harm and hurt the reputation of the BJP spokesperson by using his name in the link of the video and defaming him publicly,” the complaint said.
