A fire broke out in banana orchards near the house of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu in Undavalli on Sunday.

However, no casualties have been reported. Personnel from the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department said fire tenders doused the blaze.

A fire broke out in a banana crop harvested on the banks of the Krishna river. Fire and police reached the spot as soon as the information was received.

A fire brigade from the secretariat at Velagapudi rushed to the spot and doused the fire, said fire brigade officials.

Farmers growing horticultural crops on the banks of the river thanked the Fire and Tadepalli police for answering phone calls and saving other crops from damage.
